The textile and apparel industry has been viewed as an engine of growth in most economies of the world. It is in this context that Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, set up the National institute of Fashion Technology in 1986. The prime objective of this institute is to assist the apparel/fashion industry in meeting the industrial competitiveness on a global plane.
