If you ever
find yourself at the HDFC ATM without a debit card and you are in dire need of
cash fret not, HDFC has come up with a solution. Now you can processed with the
transaction without any hitch, even in the absence of a card. This perhaps, be their next move in accordance with digital India program- Cashless India; HDFC has
joined the ranks of other banks (SBI, Axis bank, Bank of Baroda and ICIC) in
the race to retrieve money without a card.
To avail
this feature, you will need to have a savings account in the HDFC bank and then only you can draw money from their ATM; anyplace across the country.
A couple of
things that you need to keep in mind while withdrawing from the ATM according
to the HDFC website (https://www.hdfcbank.com/personal/ways-to-bank/online-banking/cardless-cash)
is, cardless cash withdrawal request can be initiated for a minimum of Rs.100
per transaction and up to a maximum of Rs.10,000 per day or Rs.25,000 per month
for a beneficiary (The limits are subject to change as per regulatory
guidelines).
A successful
cash withdrawal request will be valid for a period of 24 hours from the time of
creation of request. After expiry of 24 hours, the request will be reversed to
the initiators account which was debited.

Step 1:
Adding a Beneficiary
1.
Login
to NetBanking.
2.
Select
Funds Transfer tab >>> Request >>> Add a Beneficiary
>>> Cardless Cash Withdrawal.
3.
Enter
the beneficiary details, click on Add and Confirm.
4.
Confirm
the mobile number and enter the OTP received for validation.
(Please note
that after completing the addition of the beneficiary it will take 30 minutes
for the beneficiary details to reflect in your account.)
Step 2:
Sending money to an added Beneficiary
1.
Login
to NetBanking.
2.
Select
Fund Transfer >>> Cardless Cash Withdrawal.
3.
Select
the Debit Bank Account.
4.
Select
beneficiary from list of registered beneficiaries (Mobile number gets auto
populated).
5.
Check
the beneficiary details, enter the amount, click on continue and confirm.
6.
Confirm
the mobile number and enter the OTP to validate the transaction.
7.
The
beneficiary will receive an SMS containing the OTP, nine-digit order ID and the
amount.
Step 3:
Withdraw cash at HDFC Bank ATMs by the Beneficiary
1.
The
beneficiary visits HDFC Bank ATM and selects Cardless Cash (option will be
displayed in IDLE loop screen).
2.
Select
the language.
3.
Customer
will be asked to enter the following details in a sequential manner.
§ OTP
Once the above
details are validated the cash will be disbursed by ATM.
It might seem tedious but once you have over the preliminary procedure,
you can easily access cardless cash anywhere, anytime.
